A team of local runners who are members of the running team Bude Rats entered the Royal Marines Tactical Commando Challenge on Sunday April 26.

This is a new event which has followed the usual October Mud Challenge which is held in Bicton Arena every October. It involved a ten km race which consisted of a series of running, memory and observations tasks as well as grenade throwing and stretcher carrying - what a laugh!

The six females were shocked to hear that out of the 67 team entries they came first out of the female.

In the team were Isobel Waterhouse, Bridget Funnell, Gemma Trace, Kate Greenaway, Dee Foley, and Irene Waterhouse.

A special thanks to Kelvin Turner and Bridget Funnell for all the support with the training and the organisations of Bude Rats.
