RESIDENTS in Launceston are gearing up to take part in ‘The Big Launceston Clean Up’.

The town is getting involved in the national ‘Clean for the Queen’ campaign, which aims to clear up the streets in time for the Queen’s birthday.

The clean is scheduled in to take place in Launceston on three days — March 4 to 6.

There will be refreshments at the town hall for those taking part, on the Sunday from noon.

Those interested in taking part are asked to contact the town council office, by calling 01566 773693, emailing [email protected] or calling into the town council offices, situated in the town hall, giving details of where and when they intend to litter-pick.

Litter picking equipment can be made available to individuals and groups over the weekend via the town council, but those in need of equipment are asked to get in touch with the town council as soon as possible.

Cllr Dave Gordon said at a meeting of the town council last week: “We have had a good response. A good part of the town is being covered.”
