BRIDGERULE Carnival week began with the crowning of Tia Jenkins, by Sheila Cholwill (chairperson of the committee); she was attended by Angel Piercey and Reece Phillips.

Following the crowning, a week of events started, culminating in the carnival procession on Saturday.

The weather was favourable and many people mingled amongst the floats. When the procession, led by Holsworthy Town Band, reached the village they were greeted by a large appreciative crowd.

Holsworthy Majorettes were also in the

procession and formed a display in the centre of the village.

A disco (with DJ Jaime) completed what had been a highly successful village event with approximately £2,500 being raised for the village organisations.
