SHEBBEAR College brought its own cow along to show at Holsworthy — the most colourful cow in Devon!

Visitors to Shebbear College’s stand at local shows this summer have been getting involved in the college’s art project.

The cow started off plain white and quickly evolved into an impressive array of colours and artistic designs as more than 300 visitors made their mark.

The cow had its final outing at Holsworthy and Stratton Show last Thursday — the last chance for the public to take part in the project.

Shebbear College has a long tradition within the agricultural world, educating many generations of farmers’ children over the last 175 years.

Mark Charman from Shebbear College said: “We have educated sometimes three or four generations of farmers sons. The cow ties in with that but also it’s an agricultural show and this is our cow!”

Visitors to the stand were able to find out more about the college’s open week from October 5 to 9. The college will be celebrating its 175th birthday in the next academic year.
