THE All Blacks, who had won their previous two league matches, led 14-13 at half time but the visitors from Gloucester had big fast backs which proved the decisive factor. In the first half home supporters were hopeful of a surprise win as the All Blacks led, having given a display of spirited counter attacking, driving forward play which dented the over-confidence of the big Hartpury eight, and brave solid defence.

The visitors started well with two early penalties kicked by their big solid fly half Tim Stevenson, who went on to bag a personal tally of 14 points, including the conversion of all his side's four tries.

From the quarter hour the All Blacks rallied with right wing Aaron Struminski racing away and taking play to the line which ended with a penalty award which full back Kieron Lewitt just missed; but he was on target soon after when further attacking play led to another shot at goal.
