HOLSWORTHY'S Phoenix Camera Club was delighted to gain second place in Devon's inter-club photographic competition.
The 'Devon Battle 2015' was hosted by Exmouth Photographic Club earlier this month. This year's event was held at Clyst St Mary with 14 clubs from around the county taking part in the competition.
The panel of five prints, entitled 'Interstellar Bubbles', entered by Holsworthy Phoenix Camera Club was well received by the judge and missed out on the top prize by just one point.
In addition, two members of the club, Eric Mitchell and Rupert Stockwin, were highly commended for their individual entries in the competition — 'Spin dry' and 'Interstellar' — giving the club three awards in the competition as a whole.
The club will soon be exhibiting a range of members' photographic work at The Castle Bude. This will take place from August 7 to 20. Entry is free and everyone is welcome.
