THE winter weather disrupted Bowood Park Seniors' golf in February but the final rounds of the three winter competition were completed and were all closely contested.
The penultimate round of the Eclectic was won with a score of 36pts by Richard Parsons; 2nd, Dave Dungate 35pts on countback from Dick Eagle also 35pts.
There were five players within two shots going into the last round: Bill Trewin 48pts, Dick Eagle 47pts, Richard Parsons 46pts, Bob Lemza 46pts and Dave Dungate 46pts.
The last round was won by Bill Trewin 39pts; 2nd, Bob Lemza 37pts; 3rd, Dave Dungate 36pts. Dave Lawton had the only two, winning 12 golf balls.
Although Bill won the final round he improved his overall score by 2pts to 50. Dick Eagle chipped in on the 12th for a birdie and 4pts to improve by 2 to 49pts, and a late flourish by Barry Richardson improved his score to 49pts, but the trophy winner was Dave Dungate who improved his score by 5pts to 51, winning by the odd point from Bill Trewin.
The eighth round of The Chipper Trophy was won by Dick Eagle 38pts; 2nd, Alec Luckin 36pts; 3rd, Barry Richardson 32pts.
Alec Luckin led going into the final round with a total of 107pts from Dick Eagle 105pts, John Green 105pts and Ken Metcalfe 104pts.
The final round was won by Alan May 38pts; 2nd, David Curnow 35pts; 3rd, Eric Smallwood 34pts on countback from Dick Eagle also on 34pts. Dick improved his score by one point, not enough to catch leader Alec Luckin.
Congratulations to outgoing Seniors' Captain Alec on winning the Chipper Trophy with 107pts from Dick Eagle 106 and John Green 105.
The final round of the Bruce Hislop Memorial Cup was won by Alan Stockwell nett 72; 2nd, Don Teague nett 73; 3rd, Dave Dungate nett 77.
Richard Parsons finished in fifth place on the day ahead of rival Bob Lemza and John Green to retain the cup.
