THE Berries Avenue Regeneration Committee (BARC) at Bude recently called on everyone to lend a hand to improve their local environment.
BARC held a community clean-up and play session with Cornwall Council play rangers at Berries Avenue Park on May 26.
The activity was part of a five-month campaign called CSV Action Earth, supported by Morrisons supermarkets. The campaign was organised by the national charity Community Service Volunteers (CSV) and involves over 900 voluntary organisations, businesses and community groups that will be undertaking projects that are of immediate and lasting benefit to the environment.
Leesa Parfitt, chair of BARC, project co-ordinator, hoped that as many people as possible would attend, and added: "Helping out on an environmental project is a great way to make friends, and do something really worthwhile for the community."
Caroline Faulkner, CSR Manager at Morrisons, said: "Morrisons is delighted to support BARC, helping to kick-start a worthwhile community project. We are thrilled that our sponsorship of Action Earth has helped BARC and we are sure it will make a real impact in helping to improve their local environment."
