In an exciting new classical twist, jazz musician and storyteller Julia Turner will be performing at Hotel Plas Hyfryd, Narberth, on Thursday, June 4.
Julia draws from a large repertoire of original music along with old but thrillingly fresh standards, making her an inspiring and fresh performer. Although this may not be strictly in the classical genre, it brings something new for the more traditional classical audience to enjoy.
Co-ordinator Ben Morris said: "We think people will love the finger-picking guitar and velvet vocals that Julia employs."
Julia Turner grew up in Bristol where she loved singing jazz from a young age. After needing an adventure away from the comfort of the city, she decided to travel the world and uses the experiences as a basis for her creativity.
Julia spends her time now arranging for, and directing, large and small vocal ensembles. She also works under the Live Music Now scheme that develops the potential of outstandingly talented players.
This should be a splendid evening to relax. The Plas Hyfryd Hotel has a developing reputation for fresh, good food, so try a meal beforehand - you will need to book!
