BUDE schoolgirl, Claire Goacher, has been making her mark in the running world.

She competed in the "Millfield PB Classic" running event on Monday May 4. This event, organised by the British Milers Club, attracts people from "far and wide" including Scotland and Ireland. Claire who is only 14 was placed 4th overall in her 800m event achieving a personal best.

This weekend she ran in a 1500m race at Carn Brea and was just pipped at the post for second place, once again running a personal best time.

She currently trains with Bude RATS (Running and Triathlon) Club and with Newquay and Par Athletics Club. Recently Claire was selected to run in the Cornwall Cross Country team and she has competed at county, regional and national level.
