RESIDENTS of Cornwall Care’s residential and nursing homes, including Callington’s Chyvarhas, had a wonderful time recently, getting involved in pancake day and Shrove Tuesday.
Hundreds of pancakes were made and residents enjoyed various tasty toppings and pancake flipping.
At Chyvarhas, Cornwall Care’s nursing home in Callington, residents had a brilliant time mixing the batter and watching Ed, the activities co-ordinator in the home, flipping the pancakes.
They enjoyed toppings of strawberries, banana and ice cream, as well as the traditional favourite — lemon and sugar.
Receptionist at Chyvarhas, Helen Lepper, said: “There were many happy faces.”
Getting involved in seasonal activities is an important part of Cornwall Care’s activity calendar, and this is just a snapshot of the fun that is had across the homes.
A spokesperson for Cornwall Care said: “We believe that independence and activity are extremely important and we, at Cornwall Care, continually strive to create fun, entertaining and engaging events for our residents to enjoy. We just love to make our residents laugh and smile!”
