THE Churches in Delabole shared together in a Village Harvest Celebration on Friday evening and Sunday. Both Churches had been suitable decorated for the Harvest Celebration.
The celebration commenced with a Harvest Supper held at the Methodist Church on Friday evening.
After sharing together in a meal, those present enjoyed a varied programme of light-hearted entertainment presented by members of the congregations.
On Sunday morning, the congregations united at the Methodist Church for a Family Service led by the Rev Bryan Ede and Lay Readers Sue Wilcox and Clare Salzmann.
The music was led by a group of Musicians drawn from both congregations.
Those present were reminded of the origins of Harvest Thanksgiving Services, that we are dependent on people all over the world for the food which we eat and that people in need depend on us.
The Harvest Weekend concluded on Sunday evening with a Harvest Songs of Praise at St John's Church.
The congregation were led in the singing of Harvest hymns by the Camelford Town Band, under the musical direction of Matthew Stedman.
Tea and Coffee was served after both Services. The proceeds of the Harvest Supper and Songs of Praise amounted to £200 for the Shelter Box Appeal.
