THE annual Camelford Community Christmas Breakfast is set to be even bigger and better than previous years this Christmas Day.
For the last three years, the Camelford Community Christmas Breakfast team have put on a free cooked Christmas breakfast in Camelford Hall on Christmas Day, bringing the community together before and during the event.
Food was donated by attendees, non-attendees and local businesses and poster printing, time and effort was given willingly from all sorts of folk.
The hall was donated, the Memory Cafe made all the beautiful table decorations, the volunteers gave up their own Christmas morning to ensure the event was successful and the chefs took time out from their busy lives to cook the most amazing hot breakfast.
All age groups were represented — people came, they chatted, smiled and laughed. There was a line dancing lesson for the first year and amazing entertainment last year from Kris Lannen and Co with their folky Christmas carols and woodwind instruments. The atmosphere was so cosy and friendly. Most importantly, they all reminded themselves that Camelford is a community that cares.
Over 80 breakfasts were cooked at last year’s event and this year the team would love to make it even bigger and better. So they are doing it all again at Camelford Hall, from 9am till 12pm on Christmas morning, with reservable free transport in and around the Camelford area.
During the morning, everyone will be able to enjoy the beautiful voices of some of the ladies from North Coast Harmony.
This year, the team will be accepting donations for the Memory Cafe, who have made the decorations for every Community Christmas Breakfast so far, and who provide an essential service to all of the Camelford folk whose lives are touched by dementia and other memory stealing illnesses.
For those who know someone that could use some extra cheer and a free breakfast in great company for themselves and family, or that would love to help out, let them know about the event — the team will look forward to seeing or hearing from them.
