The Cantata called 'Covenant of Grace' was written by Joseph M Martin, and was first published in America in 2005, and it was believed that this was only the
second time it had been performed in this country.
Joseph Martin had taken some of the stories of God's promises to the people of Israel, and the cantata concluded with the story of the crucifixion and God's promise of eternal life for all who believe.
Mr Martin had woven some well known hymn tunes into this work, with new words. There were some more familiar words, and some completely new compositions.
A spokesman said: "It was a truly splendid
performance, very easy to listen to, some really beautiful arrangements and a truly harmonious piece of music."
All who attended were complimentary of the choir, the organist Mr Malcolm Brown and the conductor Mr Ronald Brown, but were held spell bound with the truly wonderful music.
The continuity was provided by two narrators, Mr Baden Mills, and Mrs Lyn Manuell.
The choir were welcomed and thanked by the Rev Bryan Ede, Superintendent Minister of the Camelford and Tintagel Methodist Circuit. The evening concluded with refreshments supplied and served by members of the Tintagel Methodist Church.
