CHILSWORTHY Chapel celebrated 125 years of Christian witness in the village on September 4, together with the dedication of the new extension to the Stable.

The celebrations began on Sunday morning with the guest speaker Andy Frost from Share Jesus International (SJI). Many of the congregation remembered Andy's dad, the late Rev Dr Rob Frost, preaching at the chapel's reopening weekend in 2007.

Andy talked of his work with SJI, in particular 'Emerging Culture' — the teenage and student wing of the organisation. Two of the chapel's young people have been to SJI in London for Emerging Culture's young leaders training programme FRESH.

Pentecost Festival, also part of SJI, is a weeklong gathering of Christians in the capital, learning, sharing and celebrating their faith on the streets, in theatres, restaurants and cinemas. Andy gave an update of how this is growing year by year.
