ALMOST 350 children have already taken up the Summer Reading Challenge at Launceston Library — many are well on their way to completing their challenge and, with a week still to go, have already collected their bookmarks, stickers and wristbands. The challenge involves children signing up at their local library to read six books of their choice, collecting rewards along the way. Library staff have been telling families that there is still time to collect their puzzles and to complete the challenge. As long as the library knows who needs certificates before 1pm on Saturday, September 6. For the full report, and a round-up of the area news and sport, see this week's edition of the Post.
