THE Whitstone carol service saw the Sunday Club children dress in traditional costumes to form the nativity tableaux, whilst Elois Fowler narrated the story.
The carol service on the fourth Sunday in Advent saw the children take part in the recreation of the nativity story.
Angels were played by Freya Bailey, Ruby Orchard and Grace Stuckey. Mary was played by Arabella Uglow, and Joseph was played by Harry Stuckey. Shepherds and sheep were played by Scarlett Uglow, Jack Hopper, Sam and Briony Medland. The kings were played by Chloe-Marie O’Shannahan, Oliver Hopper and Luke Medland. The presentation was interspersed with familiar carols, led by Justin Uglow, who played the organ.
The children were presented with books, oranges and sweets by John Mill, a former pupil of Whitstone Sunday School, who expressed how lovely it was to see the children involved in the chapel once again.
Thanks have been extended to the Sunday Club adults for arranging the service, and to the ladies of the chapel for providing mince pies and serving them after the service. Half of the collection will be sent to Action for Children.
