THE long-awaited unannounced Child Protection Inspection by Ofsted stated the Cornwall Children's Service had made 'a huge step forward' in the whole safeguarding area.
Cllr Neil Burden Independent Lead member for children, schools and families, and Council Deputy Leader welcomed the report and said that this 'adequate' rating from a most thorough of inspections by a team of six over eight days result was a great relief as no stone was unturned, no file ignored.
Cllr Burden paid tribute to all the staff in the directorate for their great commitment and effort over the last three years especially the frontline Social Workers within Cornwall Council's Children's Schools and Families service in striving to keep all our children safe.
