THE Camelford Show annual meeting was held recently, and was well attended.
President for 2016, Mr Mike Bromell, presented two cheques to his chosen charities — Cancer Research UK Camelford branch and Heartswell Camelford branch. Each charity received £300.
The Camelford Show committee was delighted with the amount raised, and would like to thank everyone involved in organising, running and taking part in the show, as without their competitors’ support the show could not go ahead.
Ann Hayne was also presented with a bouquet of flowers and a vase, after ten years of acting as secretary of the show. Ann has now stepped down from the post to enjoy her retirement.
Camelford Show has extended thanks for all her hard work and support over the years, and have wished her well in her retirement.
A spokesperson said: “It has been a pleasure working with Ann over the years, and we are very grateful for her time as secretary.”
Next year’s show will be held on August 9, at Halwill Barton by kind permission of the Sanders family, of which the committee are grateful to.
Jonathan Holt will be the president, and the committee look forward to working with him.
There will also be a fundraising show for the main show on January 7, which will be held at Tall Trees Arena, Davidstow, by kind permission of Paula and Mark.
There will be equifest qualifiers, NPA young handler and best rider qualifiers, NPS qualifiers and SWPA qualifiers from miniature to large horses, with a supreme horse and a supreme pony championship, with a £10 voucher from Spillers to the supremes.
The spokesperson continued: “We would like to thank all our competitors, trade stands, judges, stewards and hard working members for their continued support of the Camelford Show.
“Camelford Show would finally like to wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy new year to you all, and we look forward to seeing you at next year’s events.”
