DELABOLE’S Bettle and Chisel Pub raised more than £1,500 for Abi’s Wish To Walk fund with a huge village Family Fun Day back in August (Saturday, August 29).
In addition, HSBC pledged to match fundraising to a maximum of £500, which is to be added to the total raised for the event, giving a total raised of over £2,000.
The cheque was prepared for handover at the pub’s Hallowe’en party, on Saturday, October 31.
The Post has previously reported that Abi’s Wish to Walk is raising funds to help 13-year-old Abi Crowther from Camelford have a life-changing operation.
Abi has spastic quadriplegia cerebral palsy, which means she is unable to stand-alone and cannot walk without help.
However, her family have discovered a life-changing operation, which can be carried out by Dr Park at St Louis Hospital in America.
The operation, called an SDR or Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy, would eliminate the spasticity in Abi’s muscles, making it possible for her to walk.
