TWO men were assaulted in separate attacks in Chepstow on the weekend.

In the first, which happened in Alpha Road, Bulwark between 7pm and 8.30pm on Saturday, a 47-year-old sustained facial injuries.

He was attacked by three men and required hospital treatment. He was later released.

The second attack took place in Thomas Street in the town centre between 1.30am and 1.40am on Sunday.

A 25-year-old man was walking along the road when he was assaulted by a man who had been with a small group of men just before the incident took place.

The victim sustained head and shoulder injuries and required treatment at Royal Gwent Hospital. He has also been discharged.
