"WHAT a night," "great venue," "great audience," "great entertainment," "best £5 I've ever spent" were some of the things said about the 'I Have a Dream' charity cabaret night held recently at Penstowe Leisure, Kilkhampton.
The event was organised by Bude girl Charlotte Jenkins, who was helped by Katie Stevenson.
Charlotte said: "The evening was a great success with a very professional and varied evening's entertainment."
Thanks have been expressed to all the local businesses who supplied Charlotte with raffle prizes, the ticket outlets and all the singers, dancers and entertainers for giving up their time to perform in the show.
They were: The Jason Thomas Dance Company; Central Methodist Dance School; Amy and Esmee; Hannah Lennox; Ruby Fell; The Tappers; Bude Jive Club; Joe Munday, Mark Jenkins (who did an hilarious ballet routine with Charlotte); XSNRG; Grace and Eve; Crescendo Hip Hop Company; Alana May Swain; TR14s; Budehaven Breakdancing Club; Rebekah Fell; Katie Stevenson and Charlotte Jenkins.
An amazing sum of £1,100 was raised during the evening, which was split between the two chosen charities — Sam's House (a CLIC Sargent family support house) and the Jason Thomas Dance Company.
Charlotte said she had thoroughly enjoyed organising and performing in the show and is already thinking about making it an annual event.
