Local agricultural merchants 'D & I Bridgman and Son Ltd', and feed merchants 'Harpers Home Mix' raised £3,000 for local charities at their annual golf day. Over 100 customers and friends took part in the day, which was recently held at Bude Golf Club, and a record amount was raised for charity. This year the proceeds were split between the Children's Hospice South West Precious Lives Appeal and the Cornwall Down's Syndrome Support Group Education Fund. The joint venture between Bridgmans and Harpers, who work very closely together, is now in its fourteenth year and in that time has raised approaching £25,000 for various local charities. Mike Bridgman wished to say a big thank you to all their suppliers who supported this event with prizes and donations, as it allowed all the profits to go to charity. Every single person who took part received a prize of one form or another and the event grows in popularity from one year to the next. The date is already booked for this year's event for September 18 and the organisers are looking forward to another successful event.
