A BOY from Pyworthy has tackled Wales' highest peak for charity. Ben McKenzie (pictured right), 12, recently returned from his Mount Snowdon hike, which he completed in aid of North Devon Hospice's Long House appeal. He has raised around £1,000 to support the Holsworthy-based outreach centre, but his total is still climbing. Ben was inspired to take on a challenge for North Devon Hospice after his sister, aged 13, was the youngest participant in the charity's River Swim event last year. Ben's mother, Sharon McKenzie, said: "It went really well and the weather was perfect for it. It took Ben eight hours to climb the summit and he walked back. We are really chuffed for him."
