LITTLE Otters Children’s Centre recently held a charity auction night at the Coach Inn, Camelford, raising money for much-needed outdoor play equipment.

The event, held on Friday, August 4, saw an amazing number of local businesses donate a variety of excellent prizes to be auctioned throughout the evening. There were also donations of food and desserts by local producers.

The evening was well supported, with Rob North, a local auctioneer, being a huge hit with the bidders. His entertaining manner and the generosity of the bidders helped to raise a whopping £3,140.

A spokesperson from Little Otters Children’s Centre said: “Little Otters would like to say an enormous thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this enjoyable evening. None of this would have been possible, without the support of our local business community.”

Part two of the fundraising activities is to take place on Saturday, September 2, when five parents and friends of Little Otters Children’s Centre will be cycling from the nursery all the way to Land’s End. Sharp’s Brewery, based in Rock, has supported the cyclists by supplying them with hoodies and colourful cycle jerseys to wear along the way.
