Marlene Heard welcomed everyone to Chilsworthy Methodist Chapel 2022 Remembrance Sunday service which was held at 10am.

The chapel had been extensively decorated with poppies for the occasion. Marlene welcomed Mark Shepherd who led the service.

Hymns were sung and the singing was led by Dionne Bere playing the keyboard with Avril Glessing, Pam Newton and John Cleave as vocalists.

The Bible reading from Peter 3:13-22 was read by Mary Care.

The video of Lean Hard was viewed. Thanks went to Tim Watson and Ruth Jones for operating the audiovisuals for the service.

The service concluded with the two minutes silence at 11am. Immediately after the service the congregation made their way to the Methodist Burial Ground where Mark Shepherd led the Act of Remembrance, reading from Isaiah. Howard Ratledge laid a wreath on the grave of the Father of brothers Archibald and Josiah Hayman, who gave their lives in World War 1, and John Cleave laid a wreath on the grave of Corporal Richard Sillifant who died as the result of injuries sustained in World War 2. Everyone responded with the words, ‘We Will Remember Them’.

Coffee and biscuits were then served in The Stable.
