TWO Launceston jewellers are to change hands for only the third time in well over a hundred years.
What is now Livingston's Jewellers, in Westgate Street, opened its doors in the 1890s under the ownership of the Trewin family. In 1973 it became Mitchell Jewellers and in 1995 was bought by Colin Builder, a Cornishman from Wadebridge, who trades as Livingston's Jewellers at his shops across Cornwall.
In 1996 the old established jewellers of Symons, which had been in the same Church Street premises since 1845, was also bought by Mr Builder and the name changed to Castle Jewellers. Both shops are now being sold to fellow Cornish jeweller Stuart Robertson.
