PEOPLE in and around the Launceston area have noticed a change in taste of their tap water.

On Monday, a South West Water spokesperson told the Post: “We are aware that customers in the Launceston area have noticed a change in the taste of their water supply, which we are managing. This is related to snow melting on Bodmin Moor, which caused a temporary change in raw water quality. We have adjusted the water treatment process and water now leaving the treatment works has an improved taste.

“Customers’ water supply can be used as normal, but we do understand there is a noticeable taste, particularly in boiled water and hot drinks. We expect customers will notice an improvement over the next 24 hours as water travels through the distribution system.”
