CROWDS of people joined in celebrations at St Joseph's over the weekend — marking the school's 100th anniversary.
Current pupils, former students, staff, governors and parents united on Friday and Saturday for a weekend family-friendly fun.
The centenary celebrations kicked off on Friday with school tours and cream teas. Visitors could reflect on times past in the school hall where there was a display of old photographs and an exhibition of former school uniforms.
Specially arranged train rides took place on Saturday, courtesy of deputy headteacher Lis Mann and her husband Jonathan of Launceston Steam Railway. Meanwhile, former and current pupils went head-to-head in a netball tournament, tug of war and cricket matches.
Past and present members of the school choir reunited for a big 'sing-along' and entertainment was also provided by the school band and Company B.
Duck races, face painting, bouncy castle, circus skills in the orchard, stalls and food and drink — there was something for all ages.
The celebrations were completed with a successful charity ball and auction of promises held in a marquee on school grounds on Saturday night.
Rebecca Walker, school resigstrar, said the weekend was an 'excellent success'.
