THE winner of the Inspiration Woman 2015 is set to take part in her next beauty pageant.

Celena Wolfe, who farms near Blisland, and is an equestrian coach, is part of ‘Team England’ at Disneyland Paris for the ‘Face of the Globe’ pageant. She left on Saturday for the world finals.

Celena said the pageant will see more than 140 contestants from 45 different countries, including India, Australia, New Zealand, USA and Canada.

She said: “I have to compete in fitness, on stage speeches, personal interviews, publicity and most importantly charity work. The given charity being The Rainbow Child Foundation.”

Celena has raised more than £3,400 for the charity so far.

This was boosted by a quiz night at Blisland Inn on Wednesday, March 23, which raised £127.

Celena added: “I am hugely pleased with this amount! The Rainbow Child Foundation is a 100% nonprofit organisation helping disadvantaged children all over the world.

“From soup kitchens in Malawi to Burma Children refugees, efforts all over the world have seen 25,000 children helped in the last eight years with food seed banks providing food for a whole village, sanitation systems, play pumps in schools for water and HIV awareness programs.

“Gary and Margaret Marshall, the landlords of The Blisland Inn, are very supportive of all that I do with the charity. I would like to express my special thanks to them.”

Other recent fundraising events have included a ladies’ night at St Breward Football Club, which raised more than £1,000, and Dr Mark Eggleton of Tavyside Medical Centre, Tavistock, kindly offered to jump out of a plane for The Rainbow Child Foundation. The jump raised more than £2,000.

As well as fundraising, Celena said she is keen to promote self belief and confidence in young women.

She has taken part in a pageant training session at dress store Jane Louise Gowns 2 Rave About in Liskeard, which covered all aspects of what is to be expected in competition and as a Queen.

Some reigning royalty attended — Miss Plymouth Sweetheart Nicola Gallagher, Miss South West England Inspiration Emily Walker and Miss Teen Cornwall Inspiration Lauren Wilson.

The training evening raised £50 for The Rainbow Child Foundation.

Celena has also attended and mentored at Impact Models, Truro, model school days and JM Models model photoshoot day.

She added: “I have found through pageantry I can really get to the heart of youth issues — that is time old problems and the newer pressures brought on by the rise of reality TV and social media.

“Pageantry is the most wonderful world to be in. Young (and older!) women who struggle to believe in themselves and see beauty and poise and eloquence as something far from them — reach out, take that chance and suddenly realise that everything yet nothing has changed but they suddenly have a growing seed of confidence to help themselves, and help to others with the backup of a new family made of the most diverse group of strong independent beautiful woman wanting to make a difference to their own lives and to others.”
