THE women's section of Launceston Royal British Legion held its first meeting of 2015 at Edymead last week.

Bouquets were presented to Margaret Gynn, whose diamond wedding anniversary was in early February, Barbara Strike, and Wendy Key, who were both married 50 years ago on the same January day in Launceston. Congratulations were passed to their respective husbands!

Correspondence and business matters since the last meeting in December were dealt with, then the ladies spent the rest of the evening competing at dominoes and various other board games and a picture quiz. Refreshments and a raffle rounded off the evening.

The women's section meets at Edymead on the second Wednesday of the month between 2pm and 5pm for a 'craft and natter' afternoon to work on their own projects as well as items to sell in support of the section's charities. Anyone is welcome to join and find out more about the Legion.
