BOSCASTLE Pre-School are celebrating another excellent Ofsted report which saw the school achieve a ‘good rating’, the second highest achievement possible.
Of the four main categories; Effectiveness of the leadership and management, Quality of teaching, learning and assessment, Personal development, behaviour and welfare and Outcomes for children, Boscastle were rated as ‘good’ in each, and were extremely close to receiving the outstanding rating with just a couple of minor improvements needed.
Inspector Julie Wright carried out a thorough examinaton of the pre-school, which sits at the top of the harbour village; including watching the teachers teach, speaking to staff, parents and the headteacher, checking the suitability of the premises and of documental records.
Ms Wright was extremely impressed and recommended that Boscastle only have to review and improve the deployment of staff to provide consistently effective support during children’s outdoor play activities and work more closely with parents to promote a more consistent approach to addressing childrens’ individual next steps.
The six members of staff who work at the pre-school will be extremely proud as they strive to maintain a happy environment for the children.
