There will be a number of special events taking place throughout Bude for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, with something for everyone.

Not to be missed on Saturday, June 4, Corpus Christie Choir will be performing at St Swithun’s Church in Launcells. Time to be confirmed.

Rounding off the week, as a thank you to the community, Friends of Bude Sea Pool would like to extend an invitation to everyone to its Big Jubilee Community Lunch on Sunday, June 5, from 12noon to 4pm.

There will be prizes for the ‘Red, White and Blue fancy dress competition’ and the ‘Jubilee Cake competition’, as well as there being a ‘Pin the Crown on the Queen’ and a ‘Greasy Melon Throw’. Taster sessions and demos will be provided by the Canoe Club and Bude Surf Life Saving Club, and also for paddleboarding and yoga.

The team of trusty volunteers will be selling Polmorla Pasties made in Bude, along with other delicious homemade refreshments. Bude Sea Pool couldn’t be safe or free without the support of the local community and its supporters further afield. Pop it in the diary and the team look forward to welcoming people on the day.
