Tregadillett Girl Guides had fun recently whilst celebrating their 10th birthday. It was in July 2000 that the then leaders, Lynn Frostick and Jill Furneaux, who had been running a Guide unit in Launceston, thought it would be a good idea to open a unit in Tregadillett as so many girls were travelling into town for Guides.
Since then, numbers have grown and at the moment, 22 girls enjoy a variety of activities as part of their Guide programme. Some of the original Guides have become leaders and are now either running or assisting with Rainbows, Brownie and Guide units.
For their birthday celebration the Guides had fun at the Phoenix Leisure Centre where they had the use of the pool assault course which was followed by a walk to Launceston Castle where they had a picnic on the Castle Green ending with a slice of celebration cake!
