ST Breward Church was once again packed as the village celebrated together its annual Revel Service to remember Saint Branwalader, and give thanks for the church.
The congregation was treated to an exciting and interesting mix of hymns and prayers and contributions from members of local village organisations, as talents were displayed.
Offerings from the village history group, the St Breward Handbell Ringers with their two pieces performed by Henry VIII and his six plus one wives, the village Brownies and Guides leading the singing of Greensleeves, and the St Breward Silver Band, created a wonderful atmosphere and gave a flavour of what it means to live in St Breward.
The whole service came to a suitably dramatic conclusion as the congregation was treated to excerpts from the entertaining pantomime written for the St Breward WI the village’s very own playwright, Christine Wolf, and performed by its members.
A mass exodus to the Village Hall then gave further delight as everyone sat down to a sumptuous spread of food prepared by congregation members.
The vicar Rev Canon Sherry Bryan said: “We can safely say that St Branwalader would have approved!”
