ST BREWARD celebrated Christmas on Sunday, December 22 with a carols by candlelight service.

The highest church in Cornwall provided a magical setting for a candlelit service, led by village vicar the Rev Canon Sherry Bryan, supported by St Breward's renowned handbell ringers playing as the congregation arrived.

While mince-pies and mulled wine were served, the local Moorland Cluster Choir performed a couple of traditional carols, with guest organist Roy Dinshaw from Blisland and soloist Pauline Kent from Camelford.

Despite the inclement weather, the church was full to bursting with the large congregation raising the roof as they gave full voice to the popular carols.
