MANY churches have been holding their Carols by Candlelight events this Christmas by switching off their electric lights, but Temple church has no option on this.
All services are held with lit candles if too dark to read the hymns, as there is no electricity at this remote moorland church on Bodmin Moor.
Recent fundraising for major refurbishment of the church’s roof and tower has purposefully not included the installation of mod-cons, such as electricity and heating, to preserve its authenticity in its unique setting.
