LISKEARD'S carnival week has got off to a fun start with a pavement art competition for children and the annual Furry Dance.
The contest, organised by the town's Lions club, attracted around 40 entrants. Those gathered also saw the crowning of carnival queen Larena Cooper and her attendants Lilly Trembeth and Amelia Elkin.
The Furry Dance was a colourful spectacle in the town centre on Wednesday.
The week of festivities will be rounded off tomorrow (Saturday) evening with the carnival procession.
