HUNDREDS of people lined the streets of Launceston on Saturday to witness the carnival — claimed by many as 'one of the best yet'!

The event, now in its fifth year, was a huge success in more ways than one, according to carnival chairman, Dave Gordon.

With more entries, floats and specatators — the carnival was well supported by the community. Ashwater Steel Band provided entertainment in the town square leading up to the grand procession, which featured an array of musical and colourful entrants.
