A FUN-FILLED carnival week kicked off in St Breward on Sunday with the judging of the scarecrows — this year's theme is 'Mr Men and Little Misses'.
There was also a church service and free luncheon. The service was held by invited guest, lay prebendary David Foster from St Endellion Church, together with his wife Sue, who gave a humorous but thoughtful message to the sermon, and prepared the congregation for a luncheon and wine supplied by friends of the church, with donations towards carnival funds totalling £73.
The event was well attended and included members from the carnival committee. It was then straight off on to the moor to Delphy Bridge to watch the carnival duck race.
