SUNDAY afternoon saw the start of the St Teath carnival week with a ‘Sunday fun day’ taking place on the village green where also the crowning of this year’s chosen royalty took place.
There was much to do on the village green — bouncy castle, paddling pools to cool down, children’s rides and the ever-popular cake stall. There was also live music to keep the crowd entertained by the Party People and Matt Hodges. During the week leading up to the carnival procession on Saturday many more events are planned throughout the week. On Thursday there will be a quiz night for teams of four at 7.30pm for 8pm start at the marquee on the village green, and Friday sees music by Dusk at Dawn’s with the bar opening at 7pm. Saturday, July 28 sees the carnival day with the marquee opening at 4pm for the bar, food and bouncy castles. Entries for the carnival will take place at the village football field between 3.30pm and 4.30pm with judging taking place at 5.15pm. The procession leaves the field at 6pm, making its way through the village with the prize giving in the marquee after the procession followed by a disco from 8.30pm to round off the week.
