Tim Hills of Launceston is pictured below (right) presenting a cheque for £1,487.30 to the Cardiology Department at Derriford Hospital. Last year, Tim and two of his friends, Adi Cox and Jonny Steel, canoed the Thames from Lechlade to Teddington Lock and then back to Lechlade. The 300 mile journey took ten days to complete and raised £1,487.30 for the hospital. Tim wanted to raise the money as a thank you for the wonderful treatment and care he received in 2007. It was a difficult challenge but they made it and managed to achieve a very worthy donation for a very worthy cause. They wished to thank everyone who sponsored them or gave a donation and an extra thank you went to The White Horse for organising a charity evening which raised almost £300.
