CAMELFORD recovered from conceding a goal in the first two minutes to give Premier Division title contenders Bodmin a big scare.

The Camels had great support with their fans' vocal encouragement playing a big part in their fight back.

After Nick Campbell had opened the scoring Bodmin were in the ascendancy but once Camelford really believed that they could cause an upset it was game on!

The Camels matched their opponents for the final 25 minutes of the first half with chances at both ends but no further scoring.

Bodmin increased their lead early in the second half with an own goal following a low cross and continued to have a few chances.

However, it was Camelford who took the initiative and the Bodmin defence was under pressure.

It was only justice when Paul Menhinick's cross was headed goalwards by Kevin Murt, Bodmin 'keeper Kevin Miller got his hands to the ball but the referee's assistant signalled the ball was over the line.

Bodmin were shaken and in the last ten minutes Camelford were creating all the penalty action but couldn't get the finishing touch to equalise.

On 90 minutes Bodmin broke and Sam Matthews' shot from the edge of the penalty area found the corner of the net to seal Bodmin's victory.

Bodmin lifted the cup but underdogs Camelford were also winners – as county official Dennis Champion said "That was a good final."
