CAMELFORD'S Royal British Legion Women's Section recently held their 64th annual meal at Bowood Golf Club.
The 'very enjoyable carvery' was attended by members and supporters, and during the event, Wendy Duncan and Pat Pitt organised a good raffle.
Margaret Shillaber, the Poppy Organiser for Camelford, said: "The Women's Section thank all their friends for the support they have given us through the year; it is very much appreciated."
The past year has been a successful one for the women's section, one of the best to date, with £2,400 sent away for the work of service women, widows and children.
During the meal, Margaret presented certificates to Cameron Valentine, Robin Moore, Phyllis Roose and Dave Johns, who have all served 10 years. George and Stephanie Jasper also received certificates for service of 20 years.
Rosy Brinklow, chairman of the Camelford branch section, presented Margaret with a 30-year award emblem and certificate.
Thanks were expressed to all poppy collectors for their hard work.
