NEWS that part of the A39 in Camelford was to close for ten weeks, received mixed feelings from the town's businesses (as previously reported in the 'Post') as there was heightened concerns that this would have an adverse impact on trading.

On Monday (September 5), answers were presented by representatives of Cornwall Council, South West Water (SWW) and its contractor Balfour Beatty.

This meeting, organised by the town's chamber of commerce, was held subsequent to the emergency Camelford Town Council meeting on August 24.

The road is set to close for around ten weeks starting from October 3, to allow essential works take place on the sewage system. The closure will begin at the junction of Clease Road and will continue down Fore Street, Market Place and then will terminate at the bridge on Victoria Road.
