ON September 14, Camelford Young Farmers' Club held its AGM at The Poldark Inn, Delabole. It's the time when all club officers hand over their jobs to someone else and we review all the achievements and things we've got up to over the year, writes Lucy Franklin, the secretary. We also presented a cheque to our chosen charity for the year, The Sunrise Appeal for which we raised £2085.90.
This year, our chairman Jenni Carthew chaired the evening, with Heather Harper being elected to take her place. My job as Secretary was given to Jenni Carthew.
Our biggest success of the year was most definitely winning the County Cabaret Cup with our act 'Girls Next Door' featuring Jenni Carthew, Heather Harper, Fiona Carthew and myself. The act was thought up by Andrew Ham and involved us doing a dance routine with dummies which were attached to us by a steel frame.
