Members of Camelford YFC presented a cheque for £1,000 to Mount Edgcumbe Hospice at the Poldark Inn, Delabole, recently. The money was raised through three events — a safari supper in the Camelford area; a cream tea at Pengenna, St Kew, courtesy of Gerald Bluett; and an evening of entertainment organised by past and present members of the club at Otterham Hall. A 70th anniversary dinner was also held at the Hotel Bristol, Newquay, at which 200 past and
present members attended. As well as the £1,000 which was donated to Mount Edgcumbe, a number of high visibility jackets were donated to the club for use at future events, and any surplus money still to be collected will also be given to Camelford YFC to donate to a charity of their choice. Camelford YFC Chairman Phil Roose said: "Everybody that supported it were very generous. We didn't expect to raise that amount of money."
