The Camelford Show Committee held a sponsored cycle ride on Sunday, April 19 around a rough perimeter of the show area. The event was the idea of local farmer George Williams, who although not one of the cyclists, helped with the sponsorship. The 2008 show had to be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions and the huge

financial loss of income on the day means every penny counts to enable the show to continue. Thanks were expressed to all who sponsored the cycle ride. The participants cycled 39.2 miles, starting and finishing at the Wilsey Down Hotel. There were over 20 cyclists, of which two managed to cover the whole route.
