CAMELFORD Rotary Club held its annual Youth Speaks competition at Bowood Golf Club on Tuesday, June 16.
Originally five schools were entered for the Youth Speaks competition, but sadly because of illness two schools had to pull out at the last moment.
This was a most enjoyable lunch time Youth Speaks event and the schools that entered were Delabole, Otterham and Tintagel and the judges were Les Cory from Delabole, Matthew Parsons, a Minister from Wadebridge and Debbie Lane, a representative from Bowood Golf Club.
Rotarians enjoyed the competition and all the children performed to the best of their abilities and Otterham Primary School, who won the last event last time it was held in 2001, run out close winners.
The team consisted of Thomas Routly, Georgie Everitt and Jodie Lavender-Bournes. Thomas was the Chairman, the Speaker was Georgie with Jodie thanking the Speaker, the Camelford Rotary Club and Bowood Golf Club.
They were presented with a Winners Shield and certificates by the Rotary Club of Camelford President Rob Round. Tintagel finished in second place and Delabole in third position.
The President thanked the schools and the children for entering the competition and hoped next year it would be held again and with more schools entering.
