Camelford Rotary Club celebrated the 100th Anniversary of Rotary International on February 23. Rotary was founded in America in 1905 and became Rotary International in 1910, hence the 100th anniversary. On this special Rotary Anniversary Day, members the Rotary Club of Camelford were pleased to welcome to their weekly lunch meeting their founder member, 93-year-old Jim Collins, along with Camelford Inner Wheel ladies and guests. This is a special week for Rotary worldwide as it is the 'Thanks for Life' week, which has the slogan 'End Polio Now'. This campaign, which the Camelford Club are heavily involved with, aims to eradicate Polio over the whole world. The group are involved with local schools who are all co-operating to raise funds for the project. The club have purchased special armbands to assist in helping to raise funds and doing their bit to get rid of this terrible disease.
